The KT 76C is the finest panel-mounted Mode A/C transponder to allow for sequential push-button squawk code entry. To ease pilot workload, the push of a single button switches to a user-preset VFR code, such as 1200. Best of all, its bright microprocessor driven gas plasma display is easily read in all light levels. The new unit features a bright, gas plasma display that shows the selected transponder code and, in a new feature, the encoder altitude output. This altitude indication is based at 29.92 inches of Hg (mercury), which is corrected on the ground by ATC computers. The KT 76C will fit directly into the existing location of a KT 76A. However, in 28 volt installations the existing dropping resistor must be bypassed. The unit operates from 11-33 Vdc, making it suitable for both 14 and 28 volt electrical systems. Although cooling air isnt required, an optional forced-air inlet has been included for those wishing to ensure maximum service life. Note: Does not include installation manual.
Is altitude encoding included in the KT 76C or is a blind encoder necessary?
Yes, a blind encoder is required for the KT 76C and is not included with the unit.
Is this King KT76C ADSB compliant?
No, please see part number 11-12038 for KT-74.
