The AK-451 (11-06305) is water resistant, rain is ok, but it will not function properly if fully submerged. Is this device GPS enabled? will it work in adverse conditions or ravines.
The AK-451 (11-06305) is GPS enabled, any blockage to the GPS signal will cause the device to not properly work. How good is the GPS, where does it Stack up in relation to a standard Garmin GPS receiver?
This is a 66 channel GPS module, this is similar to all other GPS receiver's. Does the GPS operate using an external antenna?
The AK-451 (11-06305) can operate using an external antenna when located inside of the aircraft. However, typically this is a portable unit and is intended for use outside of the aircraft and would then use the included antenna only. Can this unit be used with a remote switch, if so which one would be compatible.
The manufacturer intends for this product to be used as an PLB only and therefore no aircraft parts are compatible.
