I previously purchased this item while it had an 18 month warranty. At the first 24 month transponder check, the altitude was fluctuating erratically by 300-900ft. I sent this back to Ameri-King and they would not repair it, they stated the cost to repair it exceeded the cost of a new one. They only offered for me to buy a new one for the discounted rate of $169, which I declined. They would not even return the damaged Encoder to me unless I paid for the shipping. I explained that an 18 month warranty was no better than a 30 day warranty, since the first inspection (after install) is 24 months later. Make sure of the warranty before you buy.
Does this encoder have to be hooked to a static line?
Yes it does to obtain altitude information. What is the amperage draw for the blind encoder?
Per the Manufacturer, it draws 20 milliamps.
