This transceiver enables pilots and installation engineers to customize the VHF communication radios in any aircraft. The ideal combination of output power and low cost, provides the best value and operating characteristics for any particular aircraft an mission profile.
The system is ideally suited for installations where minimun panel space is to be used. It utilizes a small, lightweight CU 5209 control unit, which fits into a standard 2 1/4" (57 mm) round instrument panel cut-out, and is only 2 1/2" deep.

CU 5209
The CU 5209 Control Unit is used to operate and control the RT 3209 or CM 4201 VHF-Transceiver. Both enable voice communications on 760 channels in the 118.000 MHz to 136.975 MHz frquency range with a channel spacing of 25 kHz.
The mechanical construction of the Control Unit is such that it can be installed without limitation in aircraft. There is no restriction with regard to installation in the instrument panel or installation by rigid attachment to the fuselage in any aircraft, including rotary wing aircraft, in the verified environmental categories.
CU 5401
The CU 5401 - ( ) control unit is designed for installation in the instrument panel of aircraft. The dimensions of the unit correspond to the ARINC standard for instruments. RT 3209-(11)

The lightweight remote transceiver unit, AR 3209 - (11) is mated with this control head, to complete the system. It can be installed at any convenient place in the aircraft.
Both, active and preset frequencies are displayed, and can be transfered by a single stroke of the "Flip-Flop" button. Up to 20 preset frequencies can be easily entered in channel mode from the front panel, and stored in non volatile memory. When the power is turned on, a BITEsystem automatically checks and monitors various functions of the system, to insure proper operation at all times and facilitate maintenance.
