(Click image for a larger view)		Spidertracks is the affordable, satellite-based flight tracking system designed specifically for aviation to bring peace of mind to pilots and their families.

With a portable spider unit on board, the pilot’s friends can follow the flight in real time on-line so they know the pilot is safe, and so they can share the fun of flying on-line.

Automatic alerting and simple messaging mean the pilot can tell those they trust that they are safe or when they need help. The SOS is sent automatically as soon as the system loses contact with the aircraft, so help can be dispatched quickly when needed.

Portable and no cost to install
Spidertracks tracking units are completely portable with internal aerials. They are regarded as pilot carry-on equipment so require no installation and can be moved easily between aircraft as required.

How it works
It’s simple. Spidertracks sends the location, altitude, speed and direction of the aircraft every 1 or 2 minutes via the Iridium satellite network to spidertracks’ secure websites, where it is laid down as a bread-crumb trail over topographical and satellite maps. The pilot’s friends and family can log-on and follow the flight in real time – so they know where the pilot is and that they are safe. Location reports are sent in real time – so the location of the aircraft is precisely known at that moment in time. Tracks can be viewed from any PC, anywhere via a secure log-in – or using the free iSpiderViewer iPhone app.

Global coverage
Using the Iridium satellite network ensures spidertracks works everywhere on the globe and can follow aircraft in real time, 24-7, wherever they are.

Designed for aviation
Spidertracks has been designed for pilots by pilots. It records altitude, reports every 1 or 2 minutes giving an accurate location for the aircraft, in real time. Two-way contact with the system ensures the pilot knows the message has got through and the Iridium global satellite network means spidertracks gives reliable, robust coverage anywhere in the world.

Communication
Spidertracks will automatically send text and email messages to those the pilot trusts when the aircraft takes off and lands safely. Pre-programmed text and email messages can be sent from the aircraft to friends and family via satellite – giving simple communication when the aircraft is out of radio or cellphone range. And the spider will blink to let the pilot know the message has got through.

A Safety System
Spidertracks has active tracking and automatic SOS alerting – as well as a manual SOS function. SOS alerts are sent automatically as soon as the system loses contact with the aircraft – it doesn’t rely on the unit in the aircraft to continue operating. With location information to hand, friends and family can dispatch help directly to the location of the aircraft, when it’s needed.
