Radiotelephony (RT) is essential for the safe operation of aircraft wherever they fly. Use of the RT enables a pilot to communicate with ATSUs in order to obtain all kinds of information and instructions relating to the safe and expeditious conduct of his flight. Yet many student pilots find the process of learning to speak over the RT more daunting than actually learning to fly the aircraft. This book has been conceived and produced primarily in order to help students to acquire the RT knowledge, skills and techniques they will need to communicate competently, concisely and effectively with ATSUs, when flying in accordance with the Visual Flight Rules (VFR). However, the basic RT procedures taught by this book are all used when flying in accordance with Instrument Flight Rules, too. The skills taught by the book cover all ICAO standard procedures, as well as United Kingdom differences to those procedures
