Backsaver foam is temperature sensitive, softening when it comes in contact with a warm surface; thus, in a seat cushion, the foam softens and conforms to the persons body. This provides even pressure distribution and unconstricted blood circulation, significantly reducing discomfort, even over long periods.

In addition, Backsaver foam has excellent energy absorption properties, which have made it excellent for use in the U. S. space shuttle program and in military aircraft and helicopters. Pilots find that Backsaver cushions reduce their discomfort and fatigue, even on missions of 8 hours or more.
