AEROSUN X-TREME

The AeroSUN X-treme is a wing-mounted LED (Light Emitting Diode) landing light with a built-in wig wag mode in addition to its standard operation as a landing/taxi light. The AeroSUN, made from a heavy T6-6061 aluminum, is a very intense light source that uses 8 high power LEDs to produce up to 1600 lumens of light using just 24 Watts of power. The product is ideal for non-airflow closed environments. The new AeroSUN X-treme is a top-down design developed by AeroLEDs and meets our internal Safety of Flight Designs (SoFD) criterion that surpasses all other manufacturers. Developed for the most rigorous conditions known—the Alaska Frontier and bush piloting! Conceived from the annals of the founders’ 50 plus combined years of engineering products for some of the most extreme operating conditions on the planet. From the beginning, the engineering team approached the design to address the worse possible installation scenarios the product could expect to see during its’ lifetime and exceeded those requirements. The AeroSUN X-treme design benefits from advanced computer modeling techniques that are able to predict thermal, mechanical, and electrical performance of the design before actual production begins. The engineering team was able to predict premature failure and shortcomings of the design before producing a single prototype, then validate those predictions with the prototype units.
