 | The ADS-S shunts are 50mV rated. They are compatible with every other 50mV input ammeter, and are used with the AM60-A. The accuracy of these shunts is better than +/- 1/4% of the rated value by definition. A shunt is a resistor, and will generate heat with passage of current. Because of this, the resistance blades convectional flow of air. Where this mounting position is impractical, or where the shunt may be located in a small confined area, force cooling air may wish to be considered. Locations near your battery installation, and outside the cabin or engine compartment area are best. A good rule of thumb when sizing a shunt for your anticipated electrical load, is to limit proposed max amperage loads to approximately 66% of the shunt's rated. |
