Starting in May 2009, CBP has initiated new rules that makes it mandatory for pilots to advice of arrivals and departures electronically to and from the USA in advance (at least one hour before the trip takes place). With the years the rules and requirements are getting more difficult and with more penalties to the owner or operator. This will translate in an increase of workload of the pilots that have to focus more on complying with requirements than concentrating on the safety of the flight. Contact sharing its also simple and quick, FP allows you to export or import contacts to and from other FP users. Flying with someone else? No problem, send your contact card to him and he will have all your information in a snap. Someone else flying with you? same thing applies.
Know before you go!
FlashPass is aware of what information you are entering into the system, it will for example give you several clues when your passengers or crew documents are expired or are near expiration. You will know before you can add him or her to the manifest or when you glimpse at the persons or contact list. Remember that under the new rules YOU the PIC and OPERATOR are directly responsible for the information provided. FlashPass will attempt to validate that all your information is complete and will alert you of any problems or un-compatible information entered in the manifest. In other words FlashPass will do a good job of minimizing your exposure to mistakes in your manifest while you are creating it.
