(Click image for a larger view) | The N2S is a biplane used to train carrier pilots at the start of World War II and was nicknamed ""Yellow Peril"" since it has a brightly colored paint job intended to alert everyone around that a novice pilot was flying it and because the plane itself has poorly designed gear which gave it a tendency to ""ground loop."" After world War II, the remaining stock of N2Ss were transferred to the Naval Academy, remaining in service until 1960. |
