Smithville Crawford Municipal Airport (84R)
The skies above Smithville are buzzing with activity on the second Saturday in May from 9 a.m. until noon with the annual Airport Fly-In & Pancake Breakfast. The Smithville-Crawford Municipal Airport (84R) plays host to pilots and their guests that fly in for a complimentary pancake breakfast (cooked by Chamber board members and volunteers from the City) and a day of fun and shopping Smithville-style!
Area residents are also invited to explore the airport facilities, visit with the pilots, browse the exhibits, and grab a bite to eat as well. This event is designed to promote our airport to pilots who are unfamiliar with it, and to remind citizens that the only airport in Bastrop County lies right in their backyards (well, almost…technically, it’s located just south of Hwy 71 at Loop 230).
