It’s time to remind you all of our 25th (can you believe it??) annual West Coast Cub Fly-in here in the beautiful Lompoc Valley. We have a great little Fly-in, small enough to allow all the Cub guys get to know each other, yet large enough to be lots of fun.
This year we are coinciding our gathering with the Petaluma Airport Pilots Association with their
event called “Wings and Wheels” This is not a solely a Waco gathering, but all antiques are welcome. By doing this, we do not have the need for an auction since there will not be a banquet Saturday
night for our group but rather a BBQ for all those attending. The gathering is to encourage
people to get out and fly their vintage aircraft so everyone can enjoy them. If you have any questions regarding the fly-in, Scott Woods is coordinating this and his email address is f2redjacket@msn.com.

August 1st, Edenvale Aerodrome (CNV8), ON: : 20th Annual Gathering of the Classics. Organized by the Edenvale Classic Aircraft Foundation (ECAF), formerly known as the Collingwood Classic Aircraft Foundation (CCAF). This is the largest classic aviation fly-in in Ontario. We expect over 200 classic aircraft, many rare and unusual, as well as a good collection of more modern general aviation and ultralight aircraft. Plus 90 vintage automobiles and other ground attractions! Flights will be available all day, weather permitting, in the Tiger Moth and other aircraft. The rain date is August 2nd. Edenvale Aerodrome is directly north of Toronto on the southern edge of Georgian Bay. By air it’s CNV8 in the Canada Flight Supplement. By car it’s about 15 minutes west of Barrie and about 5 minutes south of Wasaga Beach. The address is 5195 Highway 26E, Stayner (on a GPS use Clearview Township), ON.
The 2nd annual “ABC Gathering” will once again feature a unique static display of Aircraft, Bikes and Cars held in conjunction this year, with the celebration of 100 years of powered flight in Canada. Located at the Kincardine Airport, this eclectic collection of vehicles will take place on Sunday August 2rd 2009 from 12 Noon to 5pm.
A tentative agreement has been reached to bring two aircraft made famous during The Battle of Britian, to our 2009 event! The Supermarine Spitfire and the Hawker Hurricane are tentatively scheduled to attend courtesy of The Russell Group. The North American Harvard and B-25 Mitchell bomber are confirmed already for display. Added to this year’s event is the Consolidated PBY-5A Canso, an amphibious aircraft used for both reconnaissance and bombing duties against enemy vessels during World War 2. Organizers are currently planning displays of motorcycles from a variety of manufacturers such as Ducati and KTM as well as the Bombardier Spyder. A huge hit with visitors in 2008, the Cloudbusters Model Aircraft club will once again perform flying demonstrations during the event.
The organizers of the ABC Gathering 2009 welcome all pilots, riders and drivers to attend and display their aircraft, bikes or cars at ABC Gathering 2009!
The owners of these fine machines will be available to talk with the public and pass on their own unique stories of aviation, motorcycling and automotive ownership. A limited number of media rides in the North American Harvard are currently being arranged, details will follow.
