Overview

These antennas have been designed by Bob Archer from Torrance, CA utilizing concepts common to military aircraft and space vehicles. The antenna performance is superior to most in use today in private aircraft. The only requirement for max. Performance is that the antennas must be installed in accordance with the installation instructions. These antennas are designed to be installed inside fiberglass or other non-conductive wing tips or tail caps of metal or other conductive material aircraft.

MODEL 1:
This VOR antenna is designed to fit inside larger fiberglass wing tips on metal (conductive that is) airplanes such as T-18's, RV's Bonanzas etc. The wing tips must have internal dimensions of at least 11"x24" and generally fit better on the bottom surface. The VSWR is normally less than 2.0:1 over a frequency band of 108 to 127 Mhz but could be higher due to installation factors.

This is the second Archer Nav antenna that I’ve purchased. I installed one on my RV14A a few years ago and it works perfectly. I haven’t installed the new one yet. Still waiting on wingtips from Van’s.

WING TIP VOR ANT LT MODEL 1

July 22, 2022

Excellent part. Easy enough to just build this yourself, but often time is money. Installed in Left wingtip of RV-8, tobe connected to GTN650xi/G3x suite. Worth the dollars to buy this.

WING TIP VOR ANT LT MODEL 1

May 5, 2022

Not yet installed, but per the installation instructions, seems the easiest antenna to install and the one that will be in the safest place (wing tip of a RV7) to prevent it to be damaged by external element. Read a lot of comments about it’s good fonctionning. Not a 5 stars because it seems overpriced for the relatively inexpensive material it is constructed with.
