The FL-760A is extremely small and one of the lightest radios in the industry at just under 1 lb in weight (replaces the FL-760). It provides a frequency range of 118 to 137 MHz with a 5 watt transmitter and 11 - 33 volt power supply. The built-in 2-place VOX intercom is sensitive and perfect for small aircraft cockpits. Users can switch between frequencies with the "flip/flop" option or use scan mode to sift through 32 programmable frequencies; additionally, there is a single button relegated to the 121.50 emergency frequency only. The FL-760A now offers updates to the original: Push-to-Talk (PTT) feature and audio inputs are separate for pilot and co-pilot. Also, intercom, VOX, volume and mic gain adjustments are now conveniently programmable from the front panel. This transceiver is ideal for noisy cockpits providing very clear reception, minimal squelch, and clear output. |
This will be placed in the Zenith 750 Cruzer that I am building. I few of my EAA group members have the same radio.
Great comm 2 in my RV7 and has terrific features - I cant recommend more highly
Radio was exactly as advertised. I bought the wiring harness as well which was clearly labelled. Installation consisted of connecting power to the red wire, ground to the black wire and the push to take button to the yellow wire.
After 12 years of intermittent radio problems, replace my Terra TX 760 with this Flightline 760A. On the first test flight, the response from the ground was best 5 by 5 ever. Both the transceiver and the intercom work very well. I hope I am as please a year from now.
Very good radio. use in powered parachute. works with my Comtronics headsets. can by converter from Comtronics for this radio. great performance and range.
I would like to be able to report on how the radio actually performs but after a month I still have not been able to install it. I ordered this radio with the harness. When I went to install it I found that although there was a beautiful, well made, well labeled harness, there was no plug to marry up with the plug on the back of the radio. Only pins on the end of each wire. I called AS avionics and they admitted that they made a mistake in not completing the harness and attaching the plug. They said they would ship me the plug and I could insert the pins myself. That was fine by me. The plug never arrived so I called and asked what was happening and was assured they would look into it and get back to me. Nothing heard, called again with the same response. Nothing heard, called again, now told the plug was on its way. Still no email or call with any tracking number. Very surprised with this as all my other dealings with AS have been very good.
Memory change is an optional switch that can be installed in the panel to switch frequencies. If you do not plan on installing this switch, please write N/A for the length.
