MAXPULSE LAND LIGHT CONTROL
STC'D PN 11-06998
The MaxPulse is a solid state landing light controller. The small size and one ounce weight places this controller in a class of its own. Extreme long life, low temperature operation, high current capability, noise free operation and small size makes it a ideal landing light controller for all aircraft. This new STC version sports eight functional pulse, flash and steady state modes of operation. It is also an ideal replacement for old technology controllers requiring large heavy heat sinks and or noisy relays as part of the installation.

I have installed four or five of these now in the past five years. Theyve always worked great, Ive used them with hid, LED and incandescent. They arent cheap but the installation is much easier than most pulse Lighting systems. 1 versatile switch, one power wire, one ground and a left and right power wire out to the lights. You can wig wag and or pulse at different speeds.

I am now out of decals. Thank you to all the nice folks that asked for one. “ I had my graphics company make me new decals, adhesive type, with L & R instead of P & S, if you want one contact me and I will send you one free.”

Installed for a pair of Whelen 71125 recognition lights in the wingtips. Works fantastic and as advertised. It does not feel cheap as others have stated. I would like to see a unit made that had some backlighting for the mode selection.

Just completed installing the MaxPulse in a PA12. 2.5 hrs. from the time I opened my tool box to the time I closed it. I thought it was a straight forward, easy install that was the best bang for the buck when I compared everything else out there. The plastic housing was a no brainer, make sure the nut isnt cross threaded before you put a tool too it. Love it, easy install and works as advertised. As a midair survivor I believe anything you can do to be seen is worth it.

After reading the previous comment I was thinking that this unit would be sub-par. It is true that the threads are plastic, but that means that you don't crank down on the nut and strip the threads. The anti rotation pin on the unit makes up for the threads being plastic in my mind. The quality of the knob seemed fine to me. The placard labeling is not very intuitive in my mind, using port and starbord as to which lamp is supposed to be on. The operation works great. The installation (including wiring) is probably one of the easiest in the pulse-light market from the other units available.

I received the switch and had my A&P install it. The lights did not work as advertised. The STC holder was contacted but was not much help. He simply said he bought the STC so he could fabricate and sell the switches but did not do any of the engineering so he could not help us troubleshoot the problem. Another switch was sent and installed, and this time the lights performed as advertised, so first switch was defective. Haven't had the switch long enough to add anything else that might be helpful.

Q: I'm considering converting my non-pulsed halogen landing & taxi light system to a pulsed LED system. Lots of data about maximum load on the pulse unit but is there a minimum load that the system will operate with? Will LED landing/taxi lights generate enough load to make the pulsing feature work properly? Automotive turn signals/flashers have problem with low current LED bulbs.

Per the manufacturer, there is not a lower limit on the current requirements. They will work fine with the LEDs.

Q: My landing and taxi light are housed together in Cessna 182H. Will it create too much heat to have lights on a pulse?

This unit is approved for this aircraft, and we have no record of any issues with the heat of the units.

Q: Does the Maxpulse system have TSO approval?

This unit is FAA STC approved.

Q: What comes in the box? Instructions?, hardware?...

1 ea MaxDim Control P/N 9200-000-A, 1 ea Fully Insulated Red Female Solderless Crimp on Connectors for 16-22 AWG Wire, 2 ea Fully Insulated Blue Female Solderless Crimp on Connectors for 14-16 AWG Wire, 1 ea Reference Panel Label, 1 ea Install Template, 1 ea Knob, 1 set of Installation Instructions including STC booklet

Q: What are the dimensions of the panel label? I need to know how much space is needed on the front of the panel.

The placard is 1.6 square with rounded corners.
