Overview

The Reiff preheat system for Rotax 912 and Rotax 914 aircraft engines is an engine-mounted electric preheat system designed for easier cold-weather starts. The preheat system consists of a 100-watt metal "hot strip" element, which is epoxied to the bottom of the crankcase, and a 50-watt band heater that is clamped to the oil tank.
The Reiff is FAA approved, and includes a thermostat to keep the oil from exceeding 150° F.

Installed on my Rotax 912 with ease. I like the fact that you can unplug components for servicing engine. Quality looking product.

Q: Can the epoxy patch be installed in the cold?

Per the supplier: The adhsive takes 24-48 hrs to cure at 75*F. Cooler temps will inhibit curing, so they suggest to start when the engine is warm, and use a space heater or spot light to keep the area warm until cured.

Q: What is the weight of part # 08-06219, Reiff preheat Rotax 912 & 914?

Approx 0.55 lbs.
