Good fit on PA-28-151 - immediately solved starting problem
What a great little package. Light weight, compact, high-torque and yet still robust. Cheaper than the rest as well. Perfect fit to my Lycoming and they even included the timing mark which my old heavyweight starter had. Well done Hartzell
Ordered IAW the Hartzell applicability chart for a Mooney M20E and a Lyc IO-360-A1A. Had to modify the nose baffle considerably to make it fit. The baffle on early M20Es is different than the later models.
The starter is a great unit. I have used these before in my FBO. This time I needed one overnight for a customer to fly by Thanksgiving. I checked the application guide for aircraft on both Aircraft Spruce and Hartzells site, both agreed to fit the Cessna 177RG. upon arival and now getting customers plane in the shop, it is VERY evident it will not fit due to the air filter assy. HETs customer service unhelpfull and suprised. I ordered a Skytec instead and had to eat the shipping. Aircraft Spruce customer service very polite and helpfull, they are not at fault for the manufacturers false advertising. Hence three stars, 5 for the starter and 1 for the application guide. This is expected in the auto world, not in aviation.
