I HAVE HAD IT SENCE 2008. BACK WHELLS ARE NOW WEARING OUT. THAT IS WEAK PONIT OF THIS . ALSO DOESN'T CLOSE AS FAR AS IT SHOULD , DESIGN PROBLEM. .WORKS GREAT OTHER THAN THAT VERY RELIABLE, LOTS OF POWER AND QUIET.
No master switch! Unit is hot full time as long as the battery has a charge. The only way to shut it off is disconnect the battery. I broke the + wire from the battery and installed a toggle switch. Apparently the tow buddy is not tested after assembly at the factory. The quality and workmanship is not what one would expect for the cost.
Just received it and put it together. Overall very solidly built. However, I was disappointed in the fact that the manufacturing process did not QA the finished product. On my unit, the electric motors solid steel axel pin protrudes well past a flush state (by approximately a nickels width), causing it to rub against the cosmetic exterior metal housing. Because of this, it made a ton of noise and required me to drill a hole the size of a dime through the exterior black housing to allow this steel axel pin to protrude through. The company does not QA the finished product completely prior to shipping. Otherwise it accomplishes the job nicely.
We do carry gas and electric taildragger draggers. Please click here to view the website listings.
If the aircraft has wheel fenders, there is usually a bar on the landing gear or strut above the wheel fender. The fittings that come with the Tow Buddy fit over this bar on either side.
Per the supplier: The weight of the Tow Buddy less battery is 95 pounds. We have no idea what battery the customer will be putting into the Tow Buddy.
We have added the manual and parts list to the 'Documents' tab online. Please review them there.
