Overview

The MicroSun is a perfect solution for applications that require an abundance of light but have limited mounting space available. Operational from 9-38Vdc, the Microsun provides over 1800 lumens of light and consumes 24 Watts of power and is suitable for a taxi light or landing light for aircraft with slower approach speeds. Popular mounting Locations include the leading edge of wing or struts, wingtip cutout, landing gear or cowling. The MicroSun includes an integrated “wig-wag” or “pulse” feature for extra recognition while in flight.

The MicroSun is protected against overheating with a built in protection circuit, is protected from lightning transients and ESD, voltage spikes, reverse voltage, and undervoltage conditions.

Polycarbonate leading edge windows are commonly used with wing-mounted landing lights, and are typically available for most airplane types from a number of third-party suppliers. The narrow profile (1 1/4"x3") makes installation in tight places a snap.

I own two of them on my plane and I am very happy with. Very bright! Low current draw I consider this landing light as a safety device since other pilots told me that they saw the light before seeing the airplane itself

Definitely brighter than the AeroLEDs Sunray light, but not quite bright enough for real night operations, in my opinion. Bright enough to work great as recognition lights, but would need a bit wider field lens to work as a taxi light.

Mixed feelings. Lights are quite bright. But the wires are very short. About 6. Thats all you get. After installing the male Molex pins that came with the brackets (sold separately from manufacturer) I realized the wires are too short and cant reach the female connector in the wing. Had to spent a few extra hours to splice, crimp, etc. All this couldve been avoided if they were a little generous with the lead wires and gave a few extra inches.
