Q&A

Please note, Aircraft Spruce's personnel are not certified aircraft mechanics and can only provide general support and ideas, which should not be relied upon or implemented in lieu of consulting an A&P or other qualified technician. Aircraft Spruce assumes no responsibility or liability for any issue or problem which may arise from any repair, modification or other work done from this knowledge base. Q: Is this approved for certified aircraft?

No, this tach is intended for use in experimental aircraft only.

Q: Is this suitable for direct connection to magneto P lead?

The gauge adapts to a pulse or sinusoidal signal with VPP < 5v, 2/1 IMP/rev. Other number of pulses per rev may to be customized. Please refer to your engine specifications to confirm if this gauge will work with your aircraft.

Q: Does it have the green line or is it bare?

Yes. P/n 10-06343 does have the green range mark on the dial. Green arc from 1000-2700, red line at 2700.

Q: Where does the wire going to terminal 5 come from, and is it supposed to be shielded wire? The reason I am asking is that I only have one signal input wire. I took terminal 5 to ground.

Per the wiring diagram you would need a signal input to both terminals 1 and 5.
