Overview

Model RT A1200 - Halon 1211-1301 Blend
Typical use: Cockpit/Cabin

The largest of the disposable, Halon blend models, the RT A1200 is a popular alternative to the 2.5 lb. gauged extinguishers for those who put a premium on light weight and low maintenance vs. the desirability of a gauge and the ability to recharge after use. 12 year shelf life.

These extinguishers contain a unique blend of liquefied gas 1211/1301, two highly effective fire fighting agents. These units are self expelling which means that the pressure remains constant even when the extinguishers are almost empty.

HALON FIRE EXTINGUISHER 2.5LB + WITH MOUNTING BRACKET

May 17, 2023

Never had to use it, but our first kept the weight above the minimum for the 12 years. Expensive, and for the money, the bracket needs improvement. On the new replacement, the latch broke. Like it is REALLY cheap and very flimsy. The bracket latch is more robust on a 25 Dollar dry Chem unit... :( ...

Q: How long is the PRT A1200 extinguisher good for since there is no gauge?

The units without a gauge have a 12 year shelf life, but should be weighed from time to time to see if the weight is within limits indicated on the label.
