This is a great starter for turning over a hot hard starting fuel injected lycoming engine. The price increase was a little hard to justify.

SKY-TEC STARTER 149-12HT PMAD

July 5, 2022

Great starter, turns the IO-540 much faster than the original prestolite. Had to make a small modification to the prop governor cable support to pick up a little clearance between the cable and starter. Highly recommend this starter!!

Update to my review ,I have contacted the company and they are willing to have me ship my starter to them at my cost and have them inspect it and then determine what they will do .They also informed me they do not rebuild the cores that are sent to them.

Dont buy this JUNK, the solenoid packed in with only 45 hours ,but was no longer on warranty and when I contacted SKY_TEC to get a solenoid they said they dont offer parts just buy a new one and use mine as a core. But guess what they are going to Rebuild my core with Parts that they will not sell separately . Go figure!!!!

Q: What is the physical difference between the 149-12HT and the 149-12HT-H?

Per Vendor: The 149-12HT is a PMAd starter. The 149-12HT-H is not a PMAd starter. Mostly used on helicopters from the manufacturer. There are differences due to the cable connections required.
