My rating of 3 stars is based on the fact that I have not been able to try the alternator function yet. The reason being that the provided battery connecting wires are far too short to safely use on my C172. To use the alternator function the engine must be running. The distance between my engine compartment battery and a spinning prop is too close to use the alternator function safely with such short connecting wires. I would suggest that the manufacturer lengthen the wires so that the testing functions can be operated at a safe distance from the prop. Preferably long enough to reach inside the cockpit.
