The simplest and best priced LED cockpit lighting and interior lighting system on the market - the LED Cockpit Lighting System NOW INCLUDES 15 feet of adhesive-backed flexible LED light strip (AVAILABLE IN PURE WHITE, RED, AND BLUE!) Can be trimmed to any length (or multiple lengths, read on!) The system also contains a digital dimmer control with black panel-mount knob, and detailed installation instructions and clear wiring diagram.
Weighs ONLY 2.5 ounces installed! The digital dimmer control uses pulse technology to prevent heat generation and current draw commonly found in inferior designs. Less that 1amp current draw at full brightness! This light system does not generate bulb heat - you will never get burned or melt anything! This interior lighting system is very easy to install - trim the light strips to the desired length at 2 inch intervals, wire as shown in the instructions, and light will not only glow softly on your instrument panel but can be turned up bright enough to illuminate clear to the flap controls or the floorboards to find that chart you dropped! Some customers even cut their Cockpit Lighting Systems into multiple small segments, and run wires to each, giving single-knob control over lights placed all over the inside of the aircraft! One dimmer controller can control up to 25 feet of light strip. The LED light strips are 8mm wide by 3mm thick made using flexible PC-board technology - with a clear vinyl coating over a black background, these light strips nearly dissapear when not illuminated. The strips are capable of curves and countours of a 2 inch radius, which will fit nicely into the corner of your glare shield or custom panel (see photographs on this page). The 3M adhesive backed light strips bond and stay bonded once placed permanently. The controller is driven from your 12v DC battery. Have a 24 volt system? No problem! 24v aircraft can utilize our own 12volt stepdown transformer, see Accessories. NOTE: For experimental aircraft only. Nice product. It was very easy to install in my experimental aircraft. There is plenty of extra LED strip to use elsewhere if needed. I recommend this kit.
great low cost lighting and so easy to fit but I did fit a switch as well as the dimmer as there was a tiny flicker when turned down.
Perfect! Quick delivery.
I ordered this kit and had it installed a few days later.. Wow what a difference! Total install only 2 hours what a great price for something so useful. Great Product!
Easy to install. Light strip has not come unstuck in the heat. Not obnoxiously bright at full. Dimming range is good. The white color has a noticeable blue bias. When dimmed, the pulse-train frequency is visible as a slightly distracting flicker when scanning the panel. A dimmer with a higher pulse frequency would help.
The glue is weak, you cant solder the wire from underneath like is i. The instructios but most of all useless. Because it isnt for certified aircraft

The current draw is less that 1 amp at full brightness.
Per the supplier: The dimmer knob, when turned fully counter clockwise, turns off the lights completely. There is not a 'click' or switch function inside the knob, but it does turn off the lighting.
Per the manufacturer: Tough question because it depends on their existing dimmer. Our new style digital dimmer controller is much more efficient and can provide lower brightness settings than typical older style dimmers in most cases. If they are using a modern dimmer controller already in their aircraft, the LED lighting should perform well connected to it.
The LED Cockpit Lighting system kit is not a TSO'd item.
As these lights were designed to be used on a 12 volt system, you would need to use a 12volt step-down transformer.
No, this lighting kit is not FAA Approved.
