We installed one of these in our 182 about a year ago. It works great - keeps our Stratus receiver fully charged, and will charge an IPAD or cellphone at the same time. We have detected no RF interference, which was a constant issue with every cigar lighter adapter I tried. We chose the lighted unit, and I like it. The dim blue light makes it easy to find the power source at night. My wife loves that she can read E-books on her IPAD on a long flight and never run out of battery.
I had this mounted behind the panel to power my Dual XGPS-170 and iPad. The USB wires are hidden from view except when in use. The unit works well to keep the both the iPad and Dual fully charged throughout the flight.
