|With its highly reliable drive mechanism, the Honeywell 85000 Series features an odometer gear train and accurate quartz crystal timing to provide enhanced performance. An improved odometer gear train, plus snap-together chassis, fits into a shock-proof, totally sealed case often resistant to many acids and solvents. All parts are in-process inspected. Every meter must pass a 100% function, burn-in, and timing accuracy test before shipping.|
After 160 hours has stopped working.
This is an actual rolling counter meter so there is no problem reading it from different angles or in direct sunlight. It works just as it is desgned to do. I am of the opinion that this is a very good choice when selecting an hourmeter.
Aircraft Spruce documentation does not make it clear as to whether or not this unit can be installed in a certificated aircraft.
This Hour Meter was easy enuff to mount on my 172N panel to replace a broken one of a different make. Hopefully it lasts forever. Its relatively cheap considering its a panel mounted gizmo. It would seem most things that screw into a panel are well over a 100 dollar minimum.
Quick shipping, looks good and works properly.

This hour meter fits in an opening 0.9 x 1.41. Mounting screws are 1.75 apart. There are 2 electrical attachment points on the back, power and ground. Both are brass tabs that take a solder connection or 1/4 fast-on connector.
