Thank you for having this item but all that I needed was replacing the pin punch, rivet set punch, and backing die. Thank you for having the survey.

Well made--from Taiwan Diameter of foot that the rivet head sits against and the rivet set is .312 . Rivet removal punch is .170.

Works fine, but the tool is not threaded, like others I have seen. As such, you will need a press or large bench vise for this to work. Luckily for me, I had a vise strong enough to use as a press. I drove out and set new rivets in all my linings. Spruce should update the listing to mention the above.

This is the type of brake lining tool where you mount the frame in a vice and you use a hammer with the included punch to drive out the old rivets. Unfortunately the rivets sre 5/32” and the punch was over 4 mm. If this punch is used as is it possible to damage the casting. I had to turn down the end to 5/32” to make it usable. You could probably use a belt sander to do the same. Otherwise mount to frame in a vice and use a good size hammer to complete the job. I’ve submitted an inquiry to Aircraft Spruce to inspect the remaining stock and in sure that they were usable as is. If you buy one of these I suggest you do the same.

I bought this to replace a similar brake tool I have been using for ~40 years. I was disappointed in the finish and fit. The punches arent a great fit in the tool, kind of loose. The punch you would like to use to push out old rivets is actually too large in diameter to use with our McCauley brake backing plates. Its larger than the rivet holes. I plan to machine a new punch that fits properly, but if I wanted to do that Id have already made on for the brake tool this was bought to replace.

Absolutely worthless. As stated in other reviews the punch is too big and will actually damage your breaks. Also, the riveting punch does not properly shape the rivets. To make matters worse, I was charged for shipping to return this defective tool.
