The Hobbyair 1 is a high quality unit made in the US. The half mask is comfortable and the attached rubber hose is a good length, attaching to the clip connect on the belt. The turbine air supply has plenty of volume through the 40 hose. The problem with the product is the 40 clear plastic reinforced supply hose. The plastic material is hard as a rock and doesnt flex or bend sufficiently as you move about. It also tends to coil up on itself and not lay flat. The hose is excessively rated at 200psi, and does not need to be reinforced either. Very frustrating went moving about. Im looking at purchasing the Citation supply hose but I need to confirm it is more flexible. Disappointing hose, otherwise a good product.

The hose smells like plastic. Ran cold water through it just like the instructions say. Still smells like plastic. The air is also hot. When you disconnect the hose from the machine the fittings are so hot they were almost burn you.

I have difficulty breathing through a regular mask. this unit makes it so able to be in that environment. A respirator that you have to pull air through contains a portion of already used air this system keeps fresh air immediately available I love it. Respirators @30$ apiece, will let this unit pay for itself soon enough

This unit is the best tool I’ve bought. I use it for everything, painting with ISO’s or not, sandblasting, sanding body filler, etc. The money you save on charcoal filters and particlulate filters means it eventually pays for itself. Plus you can let friends borrow it in exchange for beer. These things are built to last.

I just used this for the first time today. It is absolutely terrific! I was on the fence about spending the money. I had used the cartridge type respirators. They're fine for a two minute paint job or for dust but with the new paints and projects more than a few minutes, this can't be beat! Love, love it. Thanks!

Same experience as James H. This unit gets extremely hot you can’t touch the box or breath the air. I spoke with hobby air and was told if it didn’t start working probably I would need to return it to place of purchase. ACS issued a return label and RMA now they are telling me they can’t help after I already sent them the unit back. I’ve always used ACS as my main parts supplier. I’m really let down in there customer service after the sale. I’ll definitely will consider other vendors from this point on.
