Overview

The Aithre Shield EX 1.0 is the first behind-the-panel-mounted analog output carbon monoxide detector for experimental aircraft and is compatible with Dynon SkyView, Garmin G3X and Advanced Flight Systems. It puts CO monitoring directly on your avionics screen as an engine gauge! Besides being extremely small, light, and easy to install, the EX 1.0 is sensitive and responsive at the lowest levels of CO gas between 0 and 255 ppm to detect and manage CO before it becomes an emergency. With no recalibration requirement for 10 years, you’ll enjoy many years of safe flying with the Aithre Shield EX 1.0.

Under 30 second sensor response between 0 - 255 ppm with 1 ppm resolution

Measures just 1.97" x 1.97" x 0.64" (mounting flange adds 0.75" to the base width) and weighs only 1.1 ounces

Intuitive Graphical Indication:
This device is compatible with Garmin G3X, Dynon Skyview and Advanced Flight Systems and outputs as a moving bar (G3X) or a graphical dial (Dynon) or readout with popup notificatication (Advanced)

Temperature Independent:
Internal temperature adjustment circuit that compensates for temperature induced errors in the sensor between -10 C to +50 C

No Recalibration:
State-of-the-art sensor requires no recalibration for 10 years under normal operating conditions

Pressure & Altitude Independent:
The detector is not affected by pressure and altitude changes

Note: This device is NOT compatible with the Aithre Connect iOS application

Hand Calibrated:
Every Aithre detector is individually calibrated using high precision calibration CO gas and comes with a signed certificate of calibration

Q: What is the expected lifetime of this part? Most CO detectors have a limited lifetime after which they need to be replaced.

The manufacturer makes no reference to the expected life of this unit, only that it needs to be recalibrated every 10 years.
