The DC PRO-X, at just 7.5 ounces, is the lightest, full featured ANR headset in its class. Featuring advanced comfort and performance features for both commercial and general aviation pilots, excellent Hybrid Electronic Noise Cancelling and Bluetooth® wireless audio for pairing with cell phones, tablets, music players and other Bluetooth® compatible devices.|
Outlast Technology Head Pad
Ultra-soft head pad with breathable, vented design absorbs excess heat buildup, virtually eliminates ‘hot spots’ and keeps top of head cool during long flights.
These are better than I had hoped for! Once adjusted correctly they are very quiet even in the Cessna 185. I haven’t tried them in the Beaver yet. The Bluetooth works better than Zulus as does the mic. There is a slight hum that Zulus don’t have but Bose do. All day even with sunglasses are super comfy and non-fatiguing. Don’t have that pinched temple and overheated ear feeling that over the ears do after long flights. Only demerit I have is that noise canceling doesn’t turn on automatically with radio on. Batteries last long with auto shutdown. Music is clearer on Zulus and Bose but sounds really good. Very satisfied!
Superb performance and durable comfortable construction...
Between multiple David Clark and Bose Headsets this is most comfortable that Ive ever used. Theyre very light and exert almost no pressure on your ears so I havent had any discomfort using them 5+ hours at a time. I like these better than the over-the-ear variety because wearing sunglasses does not break the seal.
Excellent performance. Very suitable for long hours duty in noisy jetplan such as B737.
Best headsets I have ever had. Super light weight, comfortable, great sound quality. And the looks are great. They are smaller than most headsets. I no longer look like a martian.
I have always struggled with getting my kids to wear headsets on my airplanes. I have Bose A20s and Bose X on board but my kids complain that they are too heavy and bulky and most of the time just take them off. I had my son try the David Clark Pro Xs and he loved them. They are very lightweight and the noise cancelling works very well. They are not as quiet as the Bose but finding something that the kids will wear that also allows them to connect to their iPods / iPads is fantastic. I highly recommend them.
This is the best fitting, most comfortable headset I have ever worn. I fly a Grumman AA5 and even with the canopy open I can still hear ATC clearly. The noise canceling seams to work better when its plugged in and the engine running then it does in the living room. My wife used this set on our way back from Orlando last week and she won't give it back now. I guess I will be buying another set. I have heard lots of negative things about the older DC ANR headsets. This is in a league of its own. It may not be as quiet as the Bose but it is higher quality and more comfortable.
My Sennheiser HMEC 45's died after 10 years of faithful sevice, so the search was on... I tried the Bose A20, excellent also, but didn't like the full size headset in the Challenger 300, but it was great in my Champ! They also where almost too quiet in the jet, couldn't hear the engines at all, or the guy next to me if he took his headset off. Then I tried the Sennheiser HMEC 26-2-T, they sounded great, great mic, good noise cancelling, but they just didn't like my head much for some reason... These David Clarks are much better for me, the noise cancelling about the same as the Senns, but of course not as quiet as the Bose, but for me it is perfect in the jet, and adequate even in the Champ. The comfort is far better than the Sennheisers, and so much lighter than the Bose. The bluetooth just works, like it should, and for both phone and music from my Google Nexus phone... even made a call from the Champ! Over all I am very happy with this headset, and heartily recommend it.
Just purchased the Pro X and used them for a trip from SRQ to Key West in my Archer. At first I wasn't too impressed with the sound attenuation but after fiddling with them a bit I dicovered that I had them sitting too high on my ears. Once I had them adjusted properly, I thought they were great. I hardly knew I had them on and my sunglasses did not interfere with the seal!
Bought the DC Pro X at OSH and am very satisfied with the ENR and the clarity. The high fidelity sound from the speakers makes my music sound great during those cross country flights. These are my first ENR headsets and I am having trouble relearning to land the airplane because it gets so quiet when I reduce power. Almost weird! The only problem I have experienced is that they don't connect to my Android phone as easily as my other blue tooth devices. Other than that minor annoyance (which is probably my old phone!) I love them!
You would need to use part number 11-06535 (Dual GA Headset to 5 Pin Airbus plug adapter). The other option is to but the Airbus version, which is our part number 11-12540. See Alternate Items tab.
There are many but some of the main features include an extremely lightweight and very comfortable supra-aural (rests on the ear) design along with best in class active noise attenuation (30dB @ 150Hz), Bluetooth® Wireless Technology (cell phone/aux. music), auto shut-off, plush leatherette ear seals and headpad and a convenient headset carry bag.
The Bluetooth® feature allows you to make and receive phone calls as well as listen to your favorite music when paired with cell phones, MP3, tablets or other Bluetooth® compatible devices. When receiving or transmitting, music will mute
"Dual Voice Coil Technology” enables two disparate electrical signals to be combined into one acoustic signal. It is a fail-safe measure that provides for continuous communications should there be a loss of battery power to the headset.
The DC PRO-X has appreciable passive attenuation and exceptional electronic noise cancellation (30 dB @ 150Hz) through the range of 20Hz-1KHz.
The DC PRO-X is an extremely lightweight and very comfortable supra-aural (rests on the ear) headset. Performance results have been verified through extensive flight testing in both turboprop and jet aircraft for General and Commercial Aviation applications. This overall range of performance exceeds that of many circum-aural (surrounds the ear) designs and is ideal for most medium to low noise aircraft.
An important feature of the DC PRO-X ENC Technology is its true “fail-safe” operation. Dual voice coils are electronically independent so that no interruption of communication can result from failure of the ENC system or its power source. (Note: Cell Phone, Music and Auxiliary input devices will not operate without battery power).
The DC PRO-X weighs 7.5 ounces.
The adjustable headband suspension assembly features multiple detent positions for proper fit and is fully adjustable to your personal comfort preference.
Optimum performance and comfort is dependent up on proper headset and earseal placement on the head. For best performance; while in the presence of noise, turn on the ANR circuitry and then adjust headset and earseal position for lowest noise heard. This is the “sweet spot” which will provide the best acoustic performance.
