Cessna has made it impossible to put into their newer aircraft anything other than the Lamar Alternator Controller. This is the second one to bless the aircraft in only 1,600 hours. They seem to fail at about 800 hours. Are they as easy to replace as the older voltage regulators one used - - NO!
