In order to cater for those Lycoming engines that need improved load carrying, the Lycoming LW 16702 antiwear additive has been incorporated into the formulation thus eliminating the need for supplemental additive addition
Standard piston aviation oil of nowadays.
REALLY wish this product was still sold in a 12-bottle case. Having to order 6-packs seems to be wasteful packaging and many pilots have to order 2 cases for their oil changes.
Have always received excellent service from Aircraft Spruce. Enjoy seeing and talking with staff at AirVenture.
Do not like the 6 quart cases and the redesigned pour spout.
I know the product to be good, but something happened to one of the bottles either before or during shipping - the cal seal had broken and oil leaked out. Fortunately both bottles were in a plastic bag and the spill was contained. Probably just a fluke though.
Nicely packaged got my order fast.
Just as ordered and quick/shared shipping?
I have used this oil in my Lycoming E2D 0320 for 12 years and nearly 1600 hours with no issues and I do not add anything to it. I routinely change oil and Tempest filter every 40-50 hours.
Great product and arrived in good time. Shipping is a killer, though.
I have been putting this in the engine and it hasn’t stopped working...must be because it is oily...
No, Aeroshell oils do not contain Camguard out of the bottle. Camguard must be added to the oil if you wish to use it.
Yes, the oil is exactly the same. Aeroshell just changed their packaging from black to red.
