Single Grade Ashless Dispersant Oils
AeroShell Oils W80, W100 and W120 are ashless dispersant oils specifically developed for aviation piston engines. They combine non-metallic additives with selected high viscosity index base oils to give exceptional stability, dispersancy and anti-foaming performance. No general rule exists for every engine type when choosing the correct grade of oil; however, based on the average ambient outside temperature at engine start-up the most common grades are SAE 40, SAE 50 and SAE 60, which equates to AeroShell Oil W80, W100 and W120 respectively.
Traditionally, the choice is associated with climatic zones - AeroShell W80 for cold climate regions (-17 - 21°C), AeroShell Oil W100 for temperate regions (15 - 30°C) and AeroShell Oil W120 for warmer climates (above 26°C).
AeroShell Oils W80, W100 and W120 are produced to meet fully the SAE specification J-1899 (Grades SAE 30, 40, 50 and 60 respectively). Furthermore, they all have military qualification approval and are listed on the Qualified Products List (QPL) issued by the US Navy and on the Technically Acceptable Products List (TAPL) issued by the UK Ministry of Defence. The blending plants employed to manufacture these oils also hold the approval of the specification authorities and this ensures that the high quality standard is always maintained.
my go to oil. cheapest place ive found it thus far.
Cant go wrong with an Aeroshell product
Ordered the wrong oil by mistake! Called customer service - they corrected the order and shipped the next day. Friendly and efficient service. Thanks
This oil is very sticky and slippery - at the same time! Actually at the last oil change it took forever to drain from the engine, but it was sped up by using a much larger drain line. Even though a smaller line had to be connected to the drain port, adapting to a larger line right away really sped things up.
Excellent product! Excellent service!
Fast and easy to do business with
Exactly as ordered. Thank you
Per the supplier: it has a 4 year shelf life.
No. It was purely a marketing change. The material is exactly the same as before the bottle and case packaging was changed.
A quart of oil weighs approximately 2 lbs.
Aeroshell 100 Mineral oil/Break in oil
Aeroshell W100 Regular SAE50 oil
Aeroshell W100 Plus Regular SAE50 oil with a rust/corrosion protection additive
It is ashless dispersant oil. Mineral is break in oil, ashless dispersant oil is what you would use after the break in period.
Each case of oil weighs approximately 25 lbs.
Unfortunately we do not have any data showing these two being mixed. We recommend contacting the engine manufacture or A&P mechanic for clarification.
