Radiant Carbon Monoxide USB Alarm

June 21, 2025

First, I must preface my main comment by saying that the device works as described. I tested it multiple times using the instructions suggested in the video on their website and it works well. Id planned on purchasing the Aithre Shield USB 6.0 Portable CO Detector but this seemed like a great deal. Unfortunately, a design flaw defeats the purpose of the unit for me. I dont know how others are using their Radiant alarms but I have dual USB ports mounted in the lower panel on my Piper Archer between the ignition switch and the tach. The alarm light on the Radiant alarm points down when plugged into a correctly oriented USB port. That design flaw makes this device absolutely worthless to me. Yes, I could plug a short USB extension into the USB port on the panel and Velcro the Radiant alarm but that create a messy panel and would only get in the way of the ignition switch. I could plug it into the USB port on the front of my Garmin 345 audio panel which places the alarm light high enough to be seen but then youve got a major protrusion next to the copilot audio control.
