The new VAL Avionics NAV 2000 is the perfect complement to the COM 2000. Created from the same durable design, the NAV 2000 is built to interface with most NAV indicators, past and present. Together, NAV 2000 and COM 2000 are the perfect replacement for an aging KX-170B or Cessna NAV/COM.
The NAV 2000 is the thinnest panel-mounted NAV radio available on the market. The NAV 2000 is an effective and easy-to-operate unit that exemplifies the principles of simplicity, durability and innovation that are central to all VAL Avionics products. With features and capabilities that are comparable with more expensive radios and a compact, hard-working design, the NAV 2000 is perfectly suited for light-sport and experimental aircraft. The NAV 2000 was designed for EFIS panels. Therefore, the NAV 2000 uses the Garmin SL30 communication protocol based on NEMA-0183 for maximum compatibility with all current EFIS systems. In addition, if a NAV 2000 is connected through a COM 2000, the whole system will act as a single fully functioning SL30. |

good basic, compact nav receiver -- the SL40 of nav receivers
Very muddled audio. Indistinct and brassy. Frequency illumination ver low hard to see. Sent unit back for factory checkup but came back no change. Illumination much worse than predecessor.

The Nav-2000 (11-10569) will work with the RAMI AV-532L. Any standard VOR/LOC/Glide Slope can be used.
