GARMIN AERA 500 SERIES LITHIUM BATTERY
My Aera500 was acting up, wouldnt start, cut out, etc. I was thinking the battery was old, not charging, low voltage etc so got tried a new battery and seems to correct most of the problems. Still waiting to fully charge it but I would recommend buying a new battery first.
Its brought the Aera back to life
I had owned the Garmin 510 Area Portable GPS for a number of years. In which time I had noticed it no longer retained previous settings. I was informed that I was in need of a new internal battery. The battery from Aircraft Spruce was a exact replacement brand new Garmin battery . After a simple and easy replacement my Garmin 510 Area performed as it did when it was new.
Battery looks fine and is OEM. Problem is that it was not sealed, in a bag that looked cut open by scissors. It looked like a return from someone else. Something you dont like to see in a battery.
The GPS unit didn’t work with the battery AircraftSpruce sent to me. I called the Garmin Product Support Line and I was told the battery was bad. Garmin is sending a new battery to me.
