Note: Please confirm standard aircraft oil filter application guide to determine correct oil filter model for your engine / aircraft. The filter element is made from medical grade, type 304 stainless steel micronic filter cloth providing unmatched protection against oil contamination and resultant engine damage. A rare earth magnet is installed in the top of the element for magnetic pre-filtering of the oil. The unique twist lock design allows for easy disassembly, inspection and cleaning. The quad-ring gasket doubles the seal between the filter and the engine . The filter housing is carved out of a solid piece of 6061 T6 billet aluminum with cooling fins, which not only looks good but aids in dissipating heat. |

This is a quality filter that has many benefits over a disposable. 1) It is environmentally friendly in so far as you arent throwing away a filter at each oil change. 2) It solves the possible supply chain issues of getting a new filter each time. 3) No need to cut open the filter and deal with the subsequent mess. 4) Manufactured by a family owned company who answers the telephone, not a big corporation. The only caveat I have is that the application charts are out of date and not reliable. Best to cross reference your existing filter part# vs engine model.

The Challenger appears to be beautifully made. It has a magnet to attract metal particles and a bypass in case of blockage. I will install it at my next oil change.

Use our part number 08-07186. This is the CHALLENGER OIL FILTER QUAD SL. You can search for them directly on our website.
Per vendor: It generally needs to be changed every 1250 hours or 5 years of engine operation. Whichever comes first.
This will have a 30 micron value.
The Challenger CP48108C can physically be used in place of a Champion CH48108-1 filter, but the installation manual for Airwolf remote kits refer to the Champion CH48108 and CH48109 filters. You may want to consult with your A&P mechanic to insure the remote kit and Challenger filter are approved to be used with each other.
The diameter is 2.93" & length 3.76" including the nut.
All of the oil filters, except for the Rotax, are the same measurements 3.71" length and 2.925" diameter.
These are PMA'd or STC'd for most aircraft and engine combinations. You would just need to make sure your engine and aircraft are on the application guide. We always recommend consulting with your A&P installer to confirm legality of the install.

08-06021 replaces a "110" filter and the 08-06022 replaces a slightly longer "111" filter.

The part number determines the thread size, stud or not, relief valve or not. Also, on our website there is a suggestion under the link to testimonials that you use a 1 gallon ziplock bag.
