Yes, this holder works with the standard Ram 1 inch ball.
No, this is the device holder only. It has a spot to attach part number 11-07069 (RAM ADAPTER 2-1/2" ROUND 1" BALL) which then connects to the arm (ie # 11-01255), then the arm attaches to the base (ie yoke mount # 11-00484). A full system consists of 4 parts. However, your 696 should have included the adapter (11-07069) along with the holder (11-08576) in the box. You can unscrew it from your 696 holder and use it with this iPad Mini holder.

Thickness is approx 3/4 of an inch. It is not intended to be bolted directly to the panel. For a panel install, we Part# 11-11460.

No. For the iPad Mini 6, you will need Part# 11-19101. We recommend Part# 11-11248 which is a flex grip which can accommodate all versions of the iPad Mini.
