|The yoke clamp base will fit rails in diameter from 0.625 inch to a maximum of 1.25 inch. The 1 inch rubber ball is at a right angle to the plane of the mount; when connected to a rail, the ball sits parallel to the rail.|
I bought this to replace the plastic mount which broke. This one fits better in my Cessna.
So far it works great. I got it to replace another one that broke after the 3rd use. This one however, is made of metal where the last one was made of heavy plastic. Hopefully this one will hold up better!
Excellent bit of kit! Very useful to be able to mount the iPad system on a yoke, another place in the cockpit or for my main use, on a gas cylinder in a hot air balloon.
Works well with my skinny 57 172 controls.
Very secure mount and easy to use. All Ram mount products are well made and functional
works grate holds tite thank you
This was a replacement for my older one. I donât feel the quality of the â clampâ portion of the device is as strong as it could or should be but it works as designed.
This is the right clamp to use for a Cherokee to attach the ipad holder from below the yoke with the medium length connection clamp RAM should provide a table of which product fits a certain aircraft modesl instead of requiring the user to fit by trial and error. I purchased two parts that I cant use till I got a configuration that fit.
While this mount appears to be quite stable and well built, it does not work for my application due to the off-set of the ball and the long clamp screw. I will be returning this product for the tough claw mount.
I generally like the RAM products. I had two Yoke mounts in the last 9 months and they both failed in the same way: Specifically, the plastic piece that sits at the end of the adjustment screw (and pushes against the yoke) crumbled on both yoke mounts. The plastic simply is not strong enough. I recently purchased the much sturdier tough claw for the 1 inch ball and that looks much better.
Yes, these are commonly used in Cessna aircraft. You could also use part # 11-12930.
Yes, this should work in your Piper PA24.
