Q: Are the AN819 sleeves required with the AN818 flare nuts? I'm thinking that they are not required. The AN818 flare nuts already the 37 degree flare as an integral part of the nut itself - right? If so, how are the AN819 sleeves used?

The AN818 & AN819 fittings work together to make a line assembly with a metal tube. They must be used together at the end of a flared tube to seal the line. The AN818 does NOT have the 37 degree flare to seal the line.

Q: Are these AN819 sleeves sealed at the end and are these used with AN818 to cap the lines?

No, the AN819 are open on both ends. AN819 and AN818 fittings work together to make a line assembly with metal tubing.
