Overview

This antenna kit attaches to the inside of the windshield and dramatically improves portable nav/coms transmit, receive, and VOR performance based on extensive field testing. It is portable and ideal for those who can't use an ANT-SB. Simply attaches ones own flexible antenna to inside of windshield with BNC, coax, suction cup adapter.

Note: Kit does not include a Yaesu CN-3 (P/N 11-16957) which is needed for this kit to work. The CN-3 comes in each new Yaesu aviation box so please order one if you do not the original.

Q: Will this antenna work with a Yaesu FTA-550 handheld radio?

Yes, this antenna will work with any BNC equipped radio.

Q: Will this work with a Vertex Standard radio? I assume I would need an SMA-BNC adapter.

Yes it will work, and you will need the adapter part number 11-16957.

Q: How long is the cable in this Windshield Antenna Kit for Yaesu Handheld Radios and is it shielded?

Total length is approximately 73 inches and yes, the cable is shielded RG-58.

Q: Will this antenna work with the Yaesu FTA-750L straight out of the box?

You would need the CN-3 as well, which your handheld should have come with. If you do not have it, please see p/n 11-16957.

Q: will this work on the sportys PJ2 handheld radio?

We do not have any data showing it's use with the Sportys radio. If it uses a BNC antenna connection it should work but we cannot guarantee it.
