Just what was needed to stop my oil leaks in the tcm io360
purchased the kit for an IO 360 Followed real gaskets install instructions...Ran the engine, flew the plane, they leaked. I cleaned engine and they kept leaking... took a 4 trip and everyone of them leak !! Now, doing the job over again with factory seals !! NEVER AGAIN will I use Real Gaskets !! I only gave them 1 star because they were at least gaskets.
I bought the full set for my IO-360 to fix those pesky oil leaks. During install, I noticed even with the rubber seal stretched over the push rod tube, it wasn’t nearly as tight sealing in the engine block. The original OLD seals fit tighter!!! I called the company that made the kit and they explained that this is normal and the spring would help expand the rubber in the block.... NO DICE. They all leak. We have to do the job again and we will be buying the original seals from continental. Why would this “upgraded” kit fit so loose... The company explained the rubber parts are ordered in bulk from CHINA by the thousands.. must have got a bad batch. Do not waste your time with this kit. The old rubber seals do a better job... Bis kit was installed on a 1979 Cessna hawk XP...
