MIL-PRF-83483, anti-seize thread and severe duty heavy load compound
RoycoŽ 1MS anti-seize thread compound is a blend of lubrication grade, micro-fine powdered, molybdenum disulfide that conforms to SAE-AMS-M-7866, and technical grade petrolatum conforming to VV-P-236. RoycoŽ 1MS is non-abrasive, highly shear stable, and has a relatively low volatility compared to other thread compounds. RoycoŽ 1MS is particularly suitable for use on aircraft engine spark plugs, threaded fasteners and fittings at temperatures below 427°C (800°F). At higher temperatures, RoycoŽ 44 conforming to SAE AMS-2518 should be used in lieu of RoycoŽ 1MS. Since this material is an electrical conductor, it is especially suited for anti-seize applications where the thread compound will not impede electrical flow. RoycoŽ 1MS is a blend of lubrication grade microfine powdered molybdenum disulfide, particularly suitable for use on aircraft engine spark plugs and threaded fasteners and fittings at temperatures below 800°F. The advanced additives, inorganic gel thickeners provide superior performance for high load and sliding surfaces used under severe operating conditions in broad temperatures and/or corrosive environments. RoycoŽ 1MS compound is non-abrasive, highly shear stable and has relatively low volatility compared to some thread compounds. Since ROYCO 1MS material is an electrical conductor, it is especially suited for anti-seize applications where the thread compound will not impede the flow of an electrical current. RoycoŽ 1MS meets the requirements of MIL-PRF-83483D. |
