Overview

The Rivet Nut is a one-piece internally threaded and counterbored tubular aluminum rivet that can be pulled up or headed while working entirely from one side, forming a bulge or head on the blind side. This upset is large enough to resist being pulled through metal or plastic even under conditions of eccentric load. It overcomes the difficulty of installing brackets, handles or other attachments to tubular pieces.

Rivet nut works as designed. One will need to make a small tool to properly set them correctly. Easy enough to do. A simple solution to install threads in thin material, requiring a blind hole. Two thumbs up.

Your basic rivnut. When properly installed, does its job. Make sure to file a small notch in the receiving aluminum to avoid any turning during use.

These rivnuts were the perfect solution to replacing cherrymax rivets in a non structural application. Now removal of the panel is a much easier task than it would have been. They fit and pulled up great.

Q: What’s the difference between keyed and non-keyed?

The keyed versions have a small tab on the side to prevent them from spinning and allow for more torque.
