This is not a drop in. Two surfaces have to be machined on the new insert to fit in the existing gas cap reciever. Once that is done, I am happy with the quality and look. The ability to lock your Glasair I fuel tank is comforting. It would be a 5 star if I knew I had to machine the insert.
This unit will not replace a original glasair fuel cap. For this cap to be used, you will need to remove the old fuel cap receiver installed in the aircraft and install the receiver for this cap. So the description is not correct. It should be labelled as a New Fuel Cap Assembly which can replace a Glasair Fuel Cap. Removal of the Old Glasair receiver is required and installation of the New Gas Cap receiver will be required.
