Always happy with Spruce. Good job.
more than I expected, the service is fantastic.
Overall a good product that I would be really happy with was it not for the fact that I cannot get the Headset Adaptor Cable to work properly. Listening through my headset works fine but for the microphone I still have to use the microphone in the radio. It appears the connection of the microphone in the headset to the radio is faulty. I have tried several headsets and they all have the same problem.. This has quite an impact on the usability of the radio as a backup in a noisy GA piston plane. As I dont live in the USA I have not pursued a warranty repair/fix and just live with it.
Very happy, Clear sound, accurate GPS. Two channel monitoring feature a big plus.
Works as advertised. Amazing how many features can be packed into such a little device!
Its a great radio and has all the features I need. But, only giving it 4 stars since the GPS waypoints and radio frequencies need to be programmed rather than recognized like the GTR-200 in my plane. However, you can use their free computer program to make programming a little easier. Otherwise, its a great radio with good battery life. It even came in handy my first flight after I bought it when I was test flying a new avionics install and had radio issues.
Tested the ILS function on this radio against the twin 430Ws in the aircraft that I fly professionally. Picked up the Localizer and Glideslope earlier, and matched the certified equipment exactly down to minimums. This feature alone makes the purchase of this radio an excellent decision as an emergency backup.
Excellent standby - the Lithium ion battery pack is supplemented with AA battery back up. I already went through the cost of another battery pack so you can use AA batteries is a big asset. Easy to use, adapter for headset. All you need to add is a push to talk for hands free.
Looks like a well built radio. I bought it at a nav com backup. Hate to say it but you better have destination and alternate airports programmed before you get into the cockpit. Real clumsy to program. Haven’t had it in the air yet. Seems like squelch has a bit of issue as well
Just purchased. Replaced an older different brand handheld that was in disrepair. I just used this radio to contact ATC from 8,000MSL, as a test. Unit works well and is easy to operate. There is nothing I would change. Great handheld radio. Excellent choice for an emergency radio.
