The product itself is well worth the cost, but more importantly is the customer service you get from Switcheon. I over loaded mine by drawing too much amperage and blew the internal fuse. I was able to send it in and Switcheon would repair and send it back for no charge, so I sent it in. Come to find out they could not fix mine so what they did was sent a new one at no charge! I have owned my SwitcheOn 2 outlet timer for 3 years here in Helena, Montana. I use it throughout our winters to preheat both my airplane engine and the small engine on my tug. You use their free cell phone app to set specific times to start, or an immediate start, or selected run times. It also tells me the inside temperature of my hangar. It has never failed to perform as programmed. This is a must have device for preheating your engine if you fly in cold weather conditions. The other SwitcheOn outlet(s) could also be used to heat your cabin interior on a different timing program. Buy with confidence!

I live in an area with harsh winters where engine preheating is a must. I purchased one of these over a year ago and while it usually works as advertised, about 5% of the time it doesnt. Ive cancelled flights. The SwitcheOn app indicates the unit is active and applying power to my preheater, when occasionally it is not. Signal strength in my hangar is just fine. The only way to correct the problem is to unplug the unit, power it down to reset itself and work properly again (until it doesnt). Another aircraft owner at my airport experiences the same problem about the same percentage of times. This is the only remote switch on the market, so I have no choice but to continue using it until something more reliable hits the market. Obviously there is some sort of design flaw with SwitcheOn.

Unit has a sottered fuse on its internal circuit board. Mine blew at first use with a 1/2 hp fan! It must be sent back. It must be redesigned with an externally resettable fuse. It’s common practice and must be done. Users can’t rely on this long term without the change.
