Bought 3 light kit to upgrade lighting on my Ercoupe, 1946 C. The bulbs recd were not all correct for the plane, eveb though FAQs led me to believe otherwise. My particular application has three identical sockets ... BA15S single contact bayonet. I recd 1 BA15S style bulb, and 2 BAY15S style bulbs (red and green). I ordered this Britta bulb fill in on the right wing. I sold the other bulbs to someone that could use them, installed the 2 BA15S bulbs (including the Britta) Perfect! Worked as described. I would have needed 3 BA15S bulbs, but the rear light was included on the Tailbeacon from UAvionix. Nice bright bulb, low amp draw. Just what the plane needs.

It’s illuminating! Much brighter than its incandescent predecessor, and I understand less power draw. What’s not to love... Time will tell how it survives the rigors of seaplane ops.

The bulbs emit white light and they are designed to be used under red/green lenses. These are not certified, and are for experimental aircraft. They also have automotive applications(ref brake lights) but some aircraft light assemblies do use the dual element bulbs.
