The Flight Sound X adapter is a high quality USB sound card, custom-made for General Aviation Headsets.
WHY USE FLIGHT SOUND X?
The Flight Sound X connects these two realities. The device enables students to learn with tools that they are familiar with, thereby ultimately having a positive impact upon flight safety.
Internal amplifiers boost the microphone and headphone levels necessary for driving these high-impedance Aviation Headsets. Don’t be fooled by cheaper adapters, which omit this feature!
In addition to being functional, Aviation headsets greatly enhance the sound and feel of the simulation environment in a way that no ordinary PC-based headset could ever achieve. PC headsets often have no microphone feedback and may feel cold, remote and uninvolving.
The Flight Sound X adapter is a great accessory for any pilot!
Works as advertised.
It worked fine on the Japanese version of Windows 10. Using Flightcoms DENALI D30SP, I was able to join a Zoom meeting and it worked well. Very useful.
The Flight Sound X does exactly what I needed it to do. I am a Voice Over Talent and offer my clients Pilot Speak, or Race Car Speak. That quintessential sound can only come from an aviation headset through a VOX intercom. The problem then is to get it into the computer and my recording program. The Flight Sound X made that possible. Easy, easy, easy. Plugged it in, and the volumes matched that of my studio mic. No injected noises. Clean audio. And that perfect Pilot Speak sound. Great product! Worth every penny.
The Flight Sound X has worked perfectly and only required plugging my DCs into the unit and the USB connector into my USB powered hub. No setup except telling the computer what is connected to it for audio in and out.
Excellent product, delivery and service as usual! Thanks!
Excellent product. Just plug it in. Great audio quality with my Kore Aviation KA-1 headphones.
Does exactly what it says it does. Plugged it in, Windows 10 recognized it and installed drivers automatically, and voila there was a USB microphone and USB headphone set sitting in my sound settings. Put my Bose A20 in and mic/headphones worked without needing to turn on the noise cancelling but obviously worked with the noise cancelling on as well. Build quality seems solid so hoping it lasts! Nice that it doesnt need batteries to work.
Fantastic product. Does exactly what I wanted it to. Being that the hardware and software provide side load audio (you can hear yourself, no delay) I am ecstatic. I use by Bose A20s, so the side load audio was a must. It does not come with paper instructions, so I had to look it up on the website, but no big deal. Love it, wish I had ordered years ago.
Pros: Product works great! Good sound quality and easy to use once set-up Cons: hard to set up! It was difficult figuring out what settings to use on my lightspeed zulu3s for the adapter to work correctly. Volume has to be turned down completely on the headset controller otherwise you ear an annoying hissing sound when moving your head. Mic bias switches have to be turned ON and noise gatting OFF. Sound volume must be controlled only by computer and not headset controller, leave that one turned all the way down.
Purchased for flight sim/gaming and general PC communications (Skype) use. No installation required for Windows 10, just plug it in and drivers were automatically installed. Some Windows applications need fine-tuning of the microphone levels because the adapter provides a very loud digital encoding of the microphone signal. I had to experiment a little to find the best settings for everything. This is not really a shortcoming of the adapter.

The Flight Sounds devices are essentially external USB sound cards - custom made for Aviation Headsets. Therefore, they will appear as another sound card on your computer, and you may choose to play any type of "typical" audio through this device. Examples include: VoIP, Music, Flight Simulator etc. Whether or not two-way ATC communication will be available depends on the software used.
