The 8150 series high pressure electric fuel pump is a positive displacement cammed vane type used primarily in airborne applications. It features a low pressure relief valve and integral bypass valve. Applications include in-line fuel transfer priming of fuel-injected engines & emergency fuel pump. A permanent-magnet, explosion resistant motor is rated for continuous duty. These self-priming, lightweight (2.6 lbs. max.) pumps have been used for over 15 years by major aircraft manufacturers.

Q&A

Please note, Aircraft Spruce's personnel are not certified aircraft mechanics and can only provide general support and ideas, which should not be relied upon or implemented in lieu of consulting an A&P or other qualified technician. Aircraft Spruce assumes no responsibility or liability for any issue or problem which may arise from any repair, modification or other work done from this knowledge base. Q: What is the warranty period on the new Weldon fuel pumps, ie 07-00785?

Warranty is 18 mo or 150 hrs whichever comes first. Manufacturer only offers warranty repair but must come to us to first and then we will send back for repair.

Q: What is the thread size of the 8170-A and 8150-B fuel pump inlet and outlet?

The thread sizes for both pumps are the same on the inlet and outlet. They are -6 ports with the formal size; .5625-18 UNJF-3B per MS33649-6.

Q: Do these pumps require same overhaul at 10 years of service as Duke’s pumps?

Weldon's policy is that their pumps be overhauled every 10 years. Please note that some Aircraft Type Certificate Owners may have a different recommendation (for example, some Aircraft OEMs recommend the fuel pump is serviced when the engine is overhauled.) In these situations, Weldon recommends that the Aircraft Type Certificate Owners recommendation is followed.
